The structural biology of this material was investigated using X-ray diffraction data in combination with electron microscopy techniques. The salt form of potassium tetracyanoplatinate(II) has been found to be stable up to 100 °C. Potassium tetracyanoplatinate(II) has shown antimicrobial properties against Bordetella pertussis.
