The ionization mass spectrometry analysis shows that it consists of Mn and oxygen atoms. This polymer has a diameter of around 2 nm, which can be determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Poly(ethylenglycol) methyl ether Mn 550 has been shown to have catalase activity, which is an enzyme that breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen gas.
