Description

4-Phenyl-3-buten-2-one (4PB) is a structural analog of benzalacetone, which is an inhibitor of cytochrome P450. It has been shown to inhibit the activities of various cytochrome P450 enzymes in vitro. 4PB can be used as a substrate molecule for chemical synthesis and as a cell specific marker. The basic structure of 4PB has been determined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and x-ray crystal structures.
