Description:

(S)-2-Piperidineethanol is an alkaloid that is produced by a metathesis reaction between 2-chloroethanol and piperidine. It is a useful reagent for the synthesis of polyethylene. (S)-2-Piperidineethanol also has been shown to be an efficient metathesis catalyst for the synthesis of enantiopure natural alkaloids. This compound can be used as a methylation agent in organic chemistry. The sequence of this molecule is C3H8N2O.
