Description:Propiolamide is a sulfoxide-substituted diphenyl compound that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It is an irreversible inhibitor of the enzyme, protein kinase C, which has been shown to be involved in the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation. Propiolamide also inhibits the production of estrone sulfate by inhibiting mitochondrial superoxide production. The hydrochloric acid-catalyzed reaction solution can be prepared using anhydrous sodium as a reducing agent and chemical stability can be achieved by using palladium as a catalyst.
