Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a polymer with a low molecular weight that can be used in the treatment of colonic adenocarcinoma. PEG has an inhibitory effect on the growth of cancer cells and forms solid dispersions which can be administered orally. PEG is shown to have an antibody response and inhibitory properties, which may be due to its ability to bind to cancer cells via hydrogen bonds. It also possesses biological properties such as receptor binding, cell uptake and low energy requirements, making it suitable for use in the treatment of colonic adenocarcinoma.
