Propargylamine has been shown to be a potent chemotherapy agent against cancer cells, causing neuronal death. It also inhibits epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling pathways, leading to decreased tumor cell proliferation. The drug may also have neurotrophic effects by stimulating nerve growth factors or preventing neuronal apoptosis.
