Description

Propargyl benzenesulfonate is a chemical compound that has been shown to inhibit protease activity, an enzyme that breaks down proteins. It is also used in the synthesis of aminoindane and cyclic peptides. The chemical stability of propargyl benzenesulfonate has been demonstrated by its ability to withstand trifluoroacetic acid and hydrochloric acid, as well as malonic acid and immobilized conditions. Propargyl benzenesulfonate binds to integrin receptors on cells and inhibits depression-like behavior in animal models. It also has the ability to form hydrogen bonds with amines.
