Description

2-Phenylethylamine HCl is a bicyclic heterocyclic compound that has been shown to be an inhibitor of DPP-IV, which is an enzyme that degrades the incretin hormones glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). 2-Phenylethylamine HCl has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in animal models of bowel disease. It also inhibits the α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor, which may lead to improved memory, attention span, and response time.
