Description:

DL-Phenylalanine benzyl ester 4-toluenesulfonate salt is a fluorimetric substrate that can be used in the fluorimetric assay for amyloid β-peptide. This substrate is soluble and has been shown to have an optimal sensitivity, coupling efficiency, and enhancement factor. DL-Phenylalanine benzyl ester 4-toluenesulfonate salt is synthesized by the reaction of phenylalanine with benzyl bromide and sodium tosylate in methanol. The product is purified by recrystallization in methanol/ether.
