• Description: 1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-Naphthol is a fluorescent, kinetic and thermodynamic probe for the determination of trace amounts of aldehydes in organic solvents. The compound is prepared by the reaction of 1-naphthol with 2-chloro-pyridine in an organic solvent. The product absorbs ultraviolet light at 350 nm and emits fluorescence at 450 nm.
