• Description: Perfluoro-(4-methyl-3,6-dioxaoct-7-ene)sulfonyl fluoride is a perfluorinated ionic liquid that is soluble in organic solvents such as dimethylformamide and tetrahydrofuran. It can be used for the preparation of polymers by copolymerization with other monomers. This compound can also be used to exchange ions from aqueous solutions using an ion-exchange resin. The protonated form of this compound has been found to be insoluble in most common solvents. Perfluoro-(4-methyl-3,6-dioxaoct-7-ene)sulfonyl fluoride has been shown to have high uptake after exposure to ionizing radiation, which may be due to its hydrophobic properties.
