Description:
3-Phosphonopropionic acid is a fatty acid that is synthesized by a number of pathways. It can be detected with high sensitivity in human serum, and has been shown to be a growth factor for cells. 3-Phosphonopropionic acid has been shown to form stable complexes with organometallic compounds, and it can also act as an electron donor or acceptor in redox reactions. In kinetic studies, the reaction rate constant was found to be statistically dependent on the concentration of 3-phosphonopropionic acid.
