Description

Phthalic acid bis(2-butoxyethyl) ester is a chemical substance that can be used as a polyvinyl stabilizer. It is often used in the manufacture of magnetic particles, which are used in chromatographic or other sample preparation methods. The benzyl groups on the molecule make it biocompatible with living tissues and cells. Phthalic acid bis(2-butoxyethyl) ester has been shown to inhibit cholesterol esterase, an enzyme that is involved in the breakdown of cholesterol and fats, and has been found to be a biocompatible polymer. This compound also has anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
