The inhibition of ATP levels is irreversible due to the kinetic energy that 4-pentenoic acid releases when it binds with ATP, which prevents the binding of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to ATP synthase. This process is reversible for other fatty acids because they do not release kinetic energy upon binding with ATP and ADP.
