Product Information
Name:1,4-Phenylenediacetate
Synonyms:
- Hydroquinone diacetate1,4-Diacetoxybenzene
Brand:Biosynth
Description:1,4-Phenylenediacetate is a diphenyl ether that has high resistance to solvents and other chemicals. It reacts with p-hydroxybenzoic acid to form a coordination complex. The reaction mechanism of 1,4-phenylenediacetate with p-hydroxybenzoic acid is similar to that of the esterification reaction between an alcohol and an acid. The coordination complex can be detected by FTIR spectroscopy due to the presence of hydrogen bonding interactions and phase transition temperature. 1,4-Phenylenediacetate is also capable of forming ester linkages with different carboxylic acids such as p-hydroxybenzoic acid or chloride yields. This compound has been shown to have a melting point of 176°C. Group P2 on the periodic table indicates that it is not reactive enough for metals to be classified in group P1 or P3.
