Product Information
Proanthocyanidins are a type of polyphenol that is found in plants, such as cranberry, blueberry, and grape. They have been shown to have anti-cancer properties in human cancer cells and breast cancer cells. Proanthocyanidins can be extracted from plant sources or synthesized chemically. This compound has been shown to induce cell death by inhibiting the cell cycle at the G2/M phase, which prevents the production of proteins needed for further cell division. Proanthocyanidin also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes and preventing their attachment to messenger RNA (mRNA). It also blocks the activity of topoisomerase II, an enzyme involved in DNA replication.
