Parishin E is a chemical compound that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects when used in vivo. It was shown to be effective in inhibiting the pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-6. Parishin E also inhibits the production of nitric oxide and prostaglandin E2 by inhibiting NF-κB activation and protects against oxidative injury. This compound can be used as an analytical tool for detecting chemical diversity. Parishin E is structurally related to protocatechuic acid and can be used as an analog for this chemical. Hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HIC) is a technique used to separate molecules based on their hydrophilic properties. HIC has been shown to improve the detection sensitivity of Parishin E by increasing its retention time.
