Potassium Tris(1-pyrazolyl)borohydride is a ligand that can be used in X-ray crystallography and microscopy. It has been shown to bind to the molybdenum atom of enzymes such as xanthine oxidoreductase and glutamate dehydrogenase. The compound is also able to form a complex with chloride ions, which can be used for synthetic purposes. Potassium Tris(1-pyrazolyl)borohydride has been shown to undergo metathesis reactions with nitrogen compounds, such as imines, at high temperatures. This compound has been found to have an amido group, which gives it its properties of being able to form crystal x-ray diffraction patterns.
