Petunidin chloride is a natural compound that is found in the berries of the plant, Petunia hybrida. It has been shown to have antioxidant properties and can scavenge anion radicals. This extract also exhibits anti-inflammatory and anticancer activities. The structure of petunidin chloride consists of a benzopyran moiety with an acyl group at C-3 and a hydroxyl group at C-5. Structural analysis revealed that the molecule contains two phenolic rings, which are connected by a single bond at C-4 and C-6. The basic structure consists of six carbon atoms, eight hydrogen atoms, one oxygen atom, one nitrogen atom, and one sulfur atom.
