Description:Perfluoro(Ethylcyclohexane) is a perfluorinated compound that can be used as an analytical reagent to determine the concentration of other compounds in a sample. It reacts with water, alcohols, and some other compounds to form an ester or ether, which can be analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The most common use of this chemical is in dry weight determinations of microcapsules containing radioactive materials. Perfluoro(Ethylcyclohexane) also has been shown to have proliferative activity in mouse fibroblasts and human bladder cells. Perfluoro(Ethylcyclohexane) has not been studied for carcinogenicity or reproductive toxicity.
