It is synthesised through the reaction of epichlorohydrin with 1,3-difluoro-2-propanol and has been shown to possess cell apoptosis activity. 3-Perfluorobutyl-1,2-Epoxypropane can be used as a chemical additive for coatings, viscosity, and surface properties in various industries. This compound also has the ability to bind to metal surfaces such as aluminum or stainless steel. 3-Perfluorobutyl-1,2-Epoxypropane is composed of fluoroalkyl groups that are similar to polyethylene glycols. The molecule contains two rings that are connected by an ether bond.
