Ki16198 is a small molecule that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by blocking the activity of the growth factor-β1. Ki16198 has been shown to inhibit tumorigenesis in a number of cell and animal models. Ki16198 also inhibits the production and secretion of matrix metalloproteinases, which are enzymes involved in tissue remodeling. Ki16198 has shown an inhibitory effect on tumor growth, with no detectable toxicity when administered orally in mice.
