Quercetin-3-arabinofuranoside is a flavonoid glycoside with anti-inflammatory properties. It has been shown to inhibit p21, an inhibitor of the cell cycle that is overexpressed in cancer cells. Quercetin-3-arabinofuranoside also has the ability to inhibit epidermal growth factor and platinum-based chemotherapy, which are two factors that promote tumor growth. In addition, quercetin inhibits the proliferation of human colorectal adenocarcinoma cells and has been shown to be effective against oral pathogens in tissue culture.
