Quinazoline also inhibits tumor cell proliferation by inhibiting the EGF-receptor pathway, thereby regulating cellular proliferation. The inhibition of this pathway may be due to binding at an allosteric site on the receptor or inhibition of phospholipase C activity. This compound has also been shown to have potent antitumor activity in vivo and in vitro, which may be related to its ability to inhibit angiogenesis and induce apoptosis.
