The adsorption mechanism of C.I.Reactive Orange 12 is not yet fully understood, but it has been shown that this compound reacts with methyl glycine under acidic conditions to form an ion pair and then react with activated benzalkonium chloride to form a monolayer on the surface of activated carbon particles, which prevents the adsorption of other substances
