Description:

Sodium iodide is a substrate for film, which is used to separate proteins by their size. It can be used in the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to amplify DNA from samples that are not amenable to gel electrophoresis. Sodium iodide can be used as a basic protein or light signal to indicate the presence of oxidative injury in cells. It has been shown to have potent antitumor activity and has been used as an analytical method for radiation and nuclear DNA. Sodium iodide can also be used as a biological sample for carcinoma cell lines.
