H-D-Ser-OBzl hydrochloride salt has been shown to inhibit tumor cell growth by binding to an enzyme called fatty acid synthase. H-D-Ser-OBzl hydrochloride salt also inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes and thromboxanes. The antiinflammatory effect of this drug may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
