Description:Sar-Pro-Arg-pNA (SPRAP) is a monoclonal antibody that is currently undergoing clinical trials for the treatment of diabetic patients. SPRAP binds to fibrinogen, an important protein in blood clotting, and inhibits the formation of clots. SPRAP has been shown to inhibit the growth of malignant melanoma cells. It also has an effect on cancer because it can induce apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. SPRAP inhibits protease activity, which can lead to tumor progression by inhibiting proteolytic cleavage of cell surface receptors. SPRAP also has a neutral ph and is stable at acidic pH levels.
