Product Information
- Sodium taurohyodeoxycholate hydrate
Sodium taurodeoxycholate monohydrate is a chlamydia vaccine that contains an anionic detergent and is used to treat infections. It is administered as a prophylactic vaccine for the prevention of infection in those who are at high risk for chlamydial disease, such as women with new or multiple partners and people with a history of sexually transmitted diseases. Taurodeoxycholic acid has been shown to induce antibodies against the bacterium by binding to its cell wall. This prevents it from attaching to cells and causes it to be eliminated from the body. The molecule also induces immune response by activation of T lymphocytes. In addition, this compound has been shown to reduce inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, leading to a reduced release of histamine and leukotrienes, which are mediators of allergic reactions.
