Succinyl chloride is a cell nucleus membrane protein amide that is synthesized from the sodium salt of succinic acid and ammonia. It has antimicrobial activity due to its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis, which prevents the formation of new cells. Succinyl chloride also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as a synthetic intermediate for drugs such as 4-dimethylaminobenzoic acid or trifluoroacetic acid. It is stable in aqueous solution and does not react with light when exposed to it.
