Succinylcholine chloride dihydrate is a neuromuscular blocking drug that is used as an experimental model for analytical chemistry. It has been shown to have neurotrophic activity and can be used to treat herpes simplex virus by inhibiting the action of the virus's protein kinase. Succinylcholine chloride dihydrate also inhibits the expression of toll-like receptor 4, which is expressed in both neurons and endothelial cells. This drug can be used for intubation before surgery or mechanical ventilation in congenital heart disease patients. Succinylcholine chloride dihydrate has been shown to increase growth factor levels in rats with spinal cord injury.
