Scoparone is a natural compound that has been shown to have inhibitory properties in a model system. It binds to the toll-like receptor and has been shown to reduce lipogenesis in 3t3-l1 preadipocytes. Scoparone also inhibits biochemical properties associated with injury, including dinucleotide phosphate metabolism, energy metabolism, and coumarin derivatives. The inhibition of these processes may be due to the effect of scoparone on the expression of genes that metabolize these compounds. Scoparone also has drug interactions with other drugs that are metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and those that bind to proteins or DNA. This drug is used for treatment of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn’s disease.
