Product Information
C.I.Solvent Violet 31 is a reactive dye that is used in detergent compositions. It has been shown to have a particle size between 0.1 and 10 microns and a hydroxide solution pH of less than 7.0. C.I.Solvent Violet 31 changes color from violet to green when it comes into contact with an acid, which is why it is often used as an indicator for the presence of fatty acids or polymeric materials in detergent compositions. The solubility of this dye also decreases as temperature increases, so it must be handled at lower temperatures to prevent precipitation. C.I.Solvent Violet 31 can be made into a film-forming polymer by combining with other polymers such as cationic polymers (e.g., polyamine) or caproic acid (e.g., sodium carbonate). These polymers form hydrogen bonds with the carboxyl groups on the dye and produce films that are insoluble in water
