Description:Stigmastane-3,6-dione is a diterpene found in the genus Etoac. It has been shown to inhibit cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Stigmastane-3,6-dione inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential and induces apoptosis by inhibiting the CB2 receptor. Stigmastane-3,6-dione also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Stigmastane-3,6-dione is an effective dose at 20 μM for inducing apoptosis in cancer cells.
