Soyasapogenol B is a natural compound that belongs to the genus of pueraria. It has been shown to induce autophagy in human cells and has potent anticancer activity. Soyasapogenol B has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cell lines and has also shown to inhibit tumor growth in mouse xenografts. The mechanism of action for soyasapogenol B may be due to its ability to target the mitochondria, leading to an increase in mitochondrial membrane potential, which is required for the production of ATP. This molecule also induces expression of toll-like receptors (TLR) on cells, which can activate immune responses by activating the nuclear factor kappa-B pathway. Experimental results show that soyasapogenol B suppresses inflammation and causes chemoprevention against colon cancer in mice.
