Product Information
Name:Stannous oxide
Synonyms:
- Tin(II) oxide
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Stannous oxide is a chemical compound with the formula SnO. It is a white, crystalline solid that is insoluble in water and has a low melting point of 801°C. Stannous oxide can be used to produce stannous chloride by reacting it with hydrochloric acid. The frequency shift in the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) of prostate cancer cells was investigated to optimize the process for its synthesis. Process optimization was achieved by adding hydrochloric acid to the reaction mixture, which reduces the time required for synthesis from 1 hour to 15 minutes. The transport properties of stannous oxide have been studied through logistic regression analysis and found that on-line processes are more effective than batch processes for synthesizing this compound.
Stannous oxide has also been shown to inhibit growth and induce apoptosis in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells through an unknown mechanism, but may involve intramolecular hydrogen transfer or an oxidation reaction with
