Description

Scutellarein 7-methyl ether (7ME) is a natural compound that belongs to the group of caffeic acid derivatives, which are found in plants. It has been shown to have protease and esterase inhibitory activity and significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells. 7ME has also been shown to be a potent anthelmintic drug that can be used for the treatment of worms in humans and other animals. The molecular docking analysis indicates that 7ME interacts with the active site of proteases and esters, inhibiting them from hydrolyzing proteins and lipids, respectively. This inhibition leads to decreased protein synthesis and cell death by apoptosis.
