• Description: Tetrafluoro-1,4-benzoquinone is a second-order rate constant in the reaction of oxygen nucleophiles. It is a nonpolar solvent that can be used to oxidize hydrogen fluoride and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid. Tetrafluoro-1,4-benzoquinone is also an electron donor for fluorine atoms and has a redox potential of 1.72 V. Tetrafluoro-1,4-benzoquinone has been shown to have fluorescence properties and light emission in the ultraviolet range.
