Product Information

Name:
2,2,2-Trifluoroacetohydrazide
Description:

2,2,2-Trifluoroacetohydrazide is an inhibitor of the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV). It binds to the active site of DPP-IV and prevents it from breaking down a protein called glucagon-like peptide 1. The binding of 2,2,2-Trifluoroacetohydrazide to DPP-IV also inhibits the activity of metal ions that are required for its enzymatic activity. This leads to increased levels of glucagon-like peptide 1 in the blood and decreased levels of insulin in the blood. Glucagon-like peptide 1 is a hormone that stimulates cells in the pancreas to release more insulin. This drug has been shown to lower blood pressure by decreasing peripheral vascular resistance and increasing renal excretion of sodium ions.

Glutamate receptor subtype:
Glutamate receptors belong to a class of ionotropic receptors that bind glutamate and
