Description:(1Z)-2,2,2-Trifluoro-N'-hydroxyethanimidamide is an analgesic drug that belongs to the chemical class of pyridine compounds. It has been shown to be a potent and selective inhibitor of caspase-3 in vitro. The IC50 value for (1Z)-2,2,2-Trifluoro-N'-hydroxyethanimidamide is 0.5 µM. This compound has been shown to have no effect on the synthesis of proteins or on cell viability at concentrations up to 100 µM. The IC50 value for (1Z)-2,2,2-Trifluoro-N'-hydroxyethanimidamide is less than 10 times greater than that for morphine. (1Z)-2,2,2-Trifluoro-N'-hydroxyethanimidamide has also been shown to inhibit rat paw edema induced by carrageenan
