[1,2,4]Triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-7-amine can be synthesized from 2-(3'-hydroxypropoxy)phenylamine by reaction with hydroxylamine and formaldehyde in the presence of sodium cyanide. This drug inhibits tumor growth in vitro and in vivo and is active against infectious diseases such as hepatitis B virus (HBV).
