Tributyl phosphite is a chemical that reacts with glycol ethers, inorganic acids, and hydrochloric acid. It has been used as a catalyst for the synthesis of polycarboxylic acids. The redox potential of tributyl phosphite is -0.91 V, which makes it an excellent candidate for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) because it can be oxidized and reduced easily. Tributyl phosphite also has inhibitory effects on viscosity and solid catalysts, making it useful in chemical reactions.
