(Z)-3,5,4'-Trimethoxystilbene is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial functions in skin cells and apoptosis pathway. (Z)-3,5,4'-Trimethoxystilbene binds to dna duplexes and inhibits the synthesis of proteins vital for cell division.
