Description

1-Thiazol-2-yl-piperazine is a 2,4-thiazolidinedione that binds to the GABA receptor. The binding of this compound to the GABA receptor has been shown to be reversible and competitive. 1-Thiazol-2-yl-piperazine has been shown to be an antagonist at the GABA receptor, which can be used to screen for other compounds with similar binding properties or as a tool for focusing on heterocyclic analogues with increased potency. This drug has also been shown to have physiological effects in vivo, and may be useful for the treatment of conditions such as anxiety and epilepsy.
