Description:Triasulfuron is a herbicide that inhibits cell growth and induces apoptosis. The biological properties of triasulfuron are the result of its ability to bind to an enzyme called acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) and inhibit protein synthesis. This chemical can also be used as a sample preparation reagent because it has a high degree of solubility in organic solvents, which can be used for extraction or purification. Triasulfuron has been shown to have genotoxic effects in plants at low concentrations and may cause DNA damage. It also binds to the monoclonal antibody, inhibiting binding to HIV proteins.
