Trihexadecyl methyl ammoniumchloride is a fatty acid that is used as a surface stabilizer in the production of particle boards. It has an unsaturated alkyl group and cationic functional groups and can be used as a conditioning agent in the manufacture of polyurethane foam. Trihexadecyl methyl ammoniumchloride also inhibits the reaction rate by binding to the particle surface, which may be due to its ability to form films with film-forming polymers. This product also has cosmetically beneficial properties, such as increasing water absorption and reducing skin roughness.
