Description:TOTU is a coupling reagent of the uronium salts family used in solution phase peptide synthesis. TOTU is the uronium derivative of Oxyma, can be employed in a one-pot procedure and has a high reactivity. TOTU activates the carboxylic acid by generating an acyl oxime, which then reacts with the amine to form the amide bond in the peptide product. The by-products produced during the coupling reactions in presence of TOTU are water-soluble and purification is easily achieved.
