Terbufos is an organophosphate insecticide that inhibits the activity of cytochrome P450s. It has been shown to have a number of toxicological effects, including delayed neurotoxicity and chronic cough. Terbufos also has a number of analytical methods, such as chromatographic analysis and matrix effect. Terbufos is not active against bacteria or fungi. However, it has been shown in vitro to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential, which may lead to cell death by necrosis or apoptosis. Terbufos is not acutely toxic to humans but can cause injury when ingested in large quantities or when absorbed through the skin over time.
