Description

Tolclofos-methyl is an organophosphate insecticide that is used to control a wide range of insects, including mosquitoes and cockroaches. It is a contact and stomach poison that affects the nervous system of the target pest. Tolclofos-methyl has been shown to be highly toxic to many types of insects, including mosquito larvae, in laboratory studies. The high toxicity of this insecticide is attributed to its target pests' enzyme activities and dry weight. It also has been found to have no effect on targeted pests with a multi-walled carbon structure and wild-type strain. This pesticide can be applied as a foliar spray or by ground application for control of target pests in lettuce fields and greenhouses.
